Thrilled tranquil

My life’s tranquil,
I am contented,
I’ve never wished for a thrill,
But you came to torment.
At first, I hesitated;
Afraid to be disappointed,
But you were so persistent—
Requesting for a development.
I go with the flow,
Doing it for a show;
Then I find myself smiling in the sink,
Fantasizing even though it stinks.
I hold on to your promises,
Trusted you like a life vest,
But you let me drowned,
You left me for the sea shore.
